the craziness of the past few weeks in school has now passed, so i should be able to do more artwork. if anyone cares.

i'm tired.
and i have to read 70 pages of house of mirth today
which isn't a lot
but this book is really slow
it took me like 5 hours to read 70 pages yesterday (albeit with breaks) but that's still a ridiculously slow read.
in the past when i read for 5 hours, i finished entire novels. but no. not this one.
i surprisingly like it

i've been good. i have a science competition next friday so i've been very bad at maintaining my internet presence the past few days and will only get worse until friday evening haha.

What's the competition on/for? It's alright I've been busy at work trying to get the correct genotype of C. elegans :C
science olympiad, so we have a team of 15 compete in about 20 events. I had three (Dynamic planet - the geology of earth's freshwaters, Rocks and minerals - identifying rocks/minerals/properties, and Water Quality - identifying macro invertebrates that indicate water health and interpreting data on water). I didn't medal in the last two, but I got 1st place with my partner again in Dynamic. <3 so that makes up for the rest somewhat.

Post up some traditional paintings (if you even have any yet) and I can make comments.
The best paint to start with is acrylic because it is easy for beginners to work with. or tempura. (try oil later, personal favorite, but it has some tricks to it).
acrylic is fun to play around with the colors. i'm obsessed with colors (a bit obsessed with impressionism...). i would suggest doing something simple, like a still life to start (like a cup + lemon).
